XL Consulting is a specialty firm that solely represents individuals and businesses in IRS Offer In Compromise cases. The primary objective in handling this type of case is to attempt to substantially mitigate an individual’s and/or business’s federal tax debt. Our goal is to not only substantially reduce the tax debt but also to provide the client with a fresh start and relief from the pressures associated with defending an IRS assessment and levy. The objective is to relieve our clients of their tax problems, put the IRS or State behind them for good, and move on with a fresh start.
- Scott Schneider personally handles all IRS Offer in Compromise cases from beginning to end putting his more than 30 years of experience to work for our clients. Our clients always receive this personalized service.
- XL Consulting provides a free-of-charge initial consultation to assess the likelihood of success on the merits of an Offer in Compromise. Scott does a preliminary evaluation to determine whether he is of the opinion that the client qualifies for tax debt relief under the IRS or State program criteria.
- Scott limits his practice to those matters where the taxpayer has liability exceeding $50,000.
- If Scott Schneider determines that a case has merit, the fee negotiated at the beginning of the engagement is always the final fee. There will never be any increases, hidden charges, or claims for additional compensation due to “unusual circumstances”. This is our commitment to our clients, regardless of the additional time required to bring the matter to a conclusion.
- Scott has pledged to donate a substantial portion of any after-tax fees generated to worthwhile cat and dog rescue groups with which he is affiliated.
The unique understanding and feel that Scott has for these tax matters is beyond comparison. His unique combination of training, education, practicality, “street smarts," and persuasiveness are all necessary characteristics to obtain the best deal for the client. Scott Schneider has achieved a success rate over the decades that is substantially higher than most other practitioners in tax enforcement cases.
